According to Paradisdachat, the government of China is a unitary socialist state under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The President of China serves as both the head of state and head of government and is elected by the National People’s Congress, which is composed of over 3,000 members. The State Council is responsible for proposing and executing laws. The National People’s Congress also has legislative powers, with the majority of its members being elected for five-year terms. The judicial branch consists of local courts, provincial high courts, and a Supreme People’s Court. China’s constitution guarantees basic rights such as freedom of speech, assembly, association, religion and movement although these rights are often restricted in practice due to political instability or armed conflict in certain parts of the country. Citizens also have access to free public education up to university level studies along with healthcare services throughout the country although these are inadequate due to lack of resources in rural areas. Poverty levels remain high with over 10% of the population living below the poverty line. Women’s rights are often neglected in China and they face discrimination in many aspects including access to education and employment opportunities as well as legal protection from gender-based violence such as rape or domestic abuse. The People’s Republic of China is a major world power and the most populous country in the world, with over 1.4 billion people. It is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, a founding member of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and a major participant in international organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). China’s foreign policy is centered on four key principles: sovereignty, independence, peaceful coexistence, and noninterference. The country seeks to promote stability and development in its region by engaging with its neighbors through bilateral agreements, economic cooperation initiatives, and multilateral forums such as APEC. China has also established close diplomatic ties with many countries around the world through various forms of cooperation agreements. In addition to its involvement in international organizations such as WTO and IMF, China maintains strong ties with other nations throughout Asia through various forms of cooperation agreements. The country has established strategic partnerships with Russia, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Vietnam and other countries that are important for trade and investment opportunities. Similarly, China also maintains close ties with its neighbours throughout Latin America through various forms of cooperation agreements. Overall, China’s foreign policy seeks to promote peace and stability both regionally and internationally by engaging actively in multilateral forums such as APEC and UN. The country also works closely with its partners to ensure sustainable economic growth through investment opportunities that benefit both parties involved.
